Bring Excitement to Any Room with a Spider-Man Poster
Spider-Man is one of the best loved comic book characters in the world today. Also known as Peter Parker, Spider-Man has been around since 1962 when he made his first appearance with Marvel Comics. Fans everywhere were drawn to both Peter Parker and his superhero alter-ego of Spider-Man because this brooding teen experienced many common problems familiar to adolescents everywhere. Today, there are two incredibly popular films and one in the making which have served to introduce a new generation to this hero. It's likely that you know a young person with at least one Spider-Man poster in their bedroom!
Those who aren't familiar with this web-slinging hero may wonder what all the fuss is about. Well, for decades, the story of Spider-Man has been compelling and exciting. Peter Parker was first introduced as a brooding teen who loved his family but had trouble with bullies and even shyness around girls. He first took on the role of Spider-Man after being bitten by a radioactive spider at a science exhibition. The spider bite imparted many amazing powers to Peter, including spider-sense and the ability to throw webs and climb walls.
Unlike many comic book heroes, Peter didn't set out to fight crime. Not at first, anyways. He first tried to gain riches and notoriety with his powers by winning a wrestling match against Crusher Hogan. However, once he stopped a burglary in progress he started to realize his powers could be used for more than entertainment. Also, the police told him that they had evidence regarding the death of his uncle. A villain named Sandman was thought to be responsible. Peter decided from then on to use his powers for crime fighting and destroy the villain that killed his uncle. Add lots of conflict and a touch of romance, and you'll begin to understand why Spider-Man is such a phenomenon.
In addition to many different Spider-Man poster choices on the market, there is everything from bedroom decor to bubble bath bearing Spidey's likeness. One reason this character is so popular with youngsters these days is the very successful movies recently released starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco. In 2007, the third installment comes out and is sure to increase the popularity of this already beloved comic book character!
